Ten-year-old Chihiro Ogino and her folks are going to their new home when her dad chooses to pursue a faster route. The family's vehicle stops before a passage prompting what has all the earmarks of being an unwanted entertainment mecca, which Chihiro's dad demands investigating, in spite of his little girl's dissent. They find an apparently unfilled café still loaded with food, which Chihiro's folks promptly start to eat. While investigating further, Chihiro arrives at a tremendous bathhouse and meets a kid named Haku, who cautions her to return across the riverbed before dusk. Synopsis:
Haku tracks down Chihiro and teaches her to request a task from the bathhouse's heater man, Kamaji, a yōkai ordering the susuwatari. Kamaji won't recruit her and requests that specialist Lin send Chihiro to Yubaba, the witch who runs the bathhouse. Yubaba attempts to startle Chihiro away, however she continues, and is at last given a functioning agreement. Yubaba removes the second kanji of her name, renaming her Sen (千). While visiting her folks' pigpen, Sen understands that she had proactively failed to remember her genuine name. Haku cautions her that Yubaba controls individuals by taking their names, and that assuming she fails to remember hers like he has failed to remember his, she will always be unable to leave the soul world.
Sen faces separation from different specialists; just Kamaji and Lin show compassion toward her. With Haku oblivious, Sen makes plans to return the seal and apologize to Zeniba. Sen stands up to an engorged No-Face, and feeds him the remainder of the dumpling. No-Face follows Sen out of the bathhouse, consistently spewing all that he has eaten In the mean time, Yubaba orders that Sen's folks be butchered, yet Haku uncovers that Boh is missing and offers to recover him assuming Yubaba discharges Sen and her folks. Yubaba concurs, yet provided that Sen can finish a last assessment.
